I'm guessing there's going to be 4 factions (From the screenshots I've seen) so here's my refined idea for the classes for each faction. Rohan is kind of hard to make a variety feel to it while trying to make it different to the other factions.

-Gondor-

Swordsman

Primary Weapon: Spear
Secondary Weapon: Sword
Other: Shield

Archer

Primary Weapon: Bow
Secondary Weapon: Sword

Pikeman

Primary Weapon: Long two handed spear
Secondary Weapon: Sword

Scout

Primary Weapon: Sword
Secondary Weapon: Repair Hammer?
Other: Health pack and arrow supplies

Elite Unit (Ranger)

Primary Weapon: Elite Bow
Secondary Weapon: Sword
Other: Do not appear on the map

Captain (Citadel Guard)

Primary Weapon: Sword
Secondary Weapon: Spear
Other: Shout for armor boost for allies

-Rohan-

Swordsman

Primary Weapon: Sword
Secondary Weapon: Axe (Slower but more armor piercing)
Other: Shield

Archer

Primary Weapon: Bow
Secondary Weapon: Sword

Spearman

Primary Weapon: Throwing spears
Secondary Weapon: Blade
Other: Shield

Scout

Primary Weapon: Sword
Secondary Weapon: Repair Hammer
Other: Health pack and arrow/spear supplies

Elite Unit (Elves?)

Primary Weapon: Two Handed Sword
Secondary Weapon: Bow
Other: Poison Arrows?

Captain

Primary Weapon: Sword
Secondary Weapon: Spear
Other: Shout for more dammage for allies

-Mordor-

Swordsman

Primary Weapon: Sword
Secondary Weapon: Mace
Other: Shield

Archer

Primary Weapon: Bow
Secondary Weapon: Small Sword

Pikeman

Primary Weapon: Long Spear
Secondary Weapon: Sword
Other: Shield

Scout

Primary Weapon: Sword
Secondary Weapon: Repair Hammer
Other: Meat and arrows supplies

Elite Unit (Haradrim)

Primary Weapon: Two swords
Secondary Weapon: Bow
Other: Poison blade?

Captain

Primary Weapon: Sword
Secondary Weapon: Axe
Other: Shout for health regeneration for allies when attacking

-Isengard-

Swordsman

Primary Weapon: Sword
Secondary Weapon: Shield bash
Other: Shield

Archer

Primary Weapon: Crossbow
Secondary Weapon: Sword

Pikeman

Primary Weapon: Pike
Secondary Weapon: Sword

Scout

Primary Weapon: Sword
Secondary Weapon: Repair Hammer
Other: Meat and bolt supplies

Elite Unit (Berserker)

Primary Weapon: Two Handed Sword
Secondary Weapon: None
Other: Shout for twice the attack rate

Captain

In the movies, an Uruk-hai can topple a human anyday.

Even in the films the Uruk-hai weren't a match for their counterparts. 'Young lads' and 'elderly pensioners' armed with swords do not count as the Fighting Uruk-hai's counterparts. Armed Rohirrim and Men of the City of Minas Tirith count as their counterparts.

Arise, arise, Riders of Théoden!
Fell deeds awake: fire and slaughter!
spear shall be shaken, shield by splintered,
a sword-day, a red day, ere the sun rises!
Ride now, ride now! Ride to Gondor!

Ride now, ride now! Ride to Gondor!

Lol, that's cuz they had rocks to throw down at them from a safe distance of 2 stories. Once the Uruks got on the Wall, the men got owned. You seen it.
